Introspective Crap

At some point in the last year or two, I got the sense that I had transcended that line between youth and adulthood. However, more and more I am finding myself grasping for survival tools that don't even existent. What am I going to do if I don't have a job by the time I have to move out let alone continue to pay rent where I currently live? Getting a temp job or freelance project is nice, but it only pushes back the date of when all hell will break loose.

As if that's not enough, how can I keep those around me content when I myself am not? I feel like I need to be selfish right now and defensive and isolated. Actually, I want to be isolated from people. I don't want to explain what my plan is for finding employment or housing. I don't want people's suggestions. You know what it is? I don't want to find work. I don't want to get back in line with everyone else and go through the ridiculous motions, which only result in feeling worthless and undervalued.

I'm generally angry about how cheap my labor goes for. Even employed at full-time I only had enough to cover bills & rent. Tell me, what motivation is there to not live off of government aid? Keeping one's pride intact? As if.

Cry Baby

Lots of things going on as of late. In the midst of finding a new job or jobs, depending on how things work out. Also in the middle of finding a new apartment, which for the time being has been put on the back burner.

Super exciting thing going on: Cry Baby comp cd! Currently working on the layout, but the photos are all picked out for placement and I'm super excited about this project. What's so great about this project is that I get to incorporate my photography into it.

I wanna post the pic that we chose for the cover because it's soooo good, but I don't want to spoil it. So instead, here are some that didn't make the final cut:

It was my buddy Alicia's birthday yesterday and to celebrate she rounded up a couple of bands to play at the Cha Cha. One of them, My Goodness, put on a rad show. Got some pics of them...

Trip down memory lane

50mph winds + I work in a building that floats on lake union +  waves = rock n roll work day!

I need to write more frequently. So, here goes a quick update. I got poster of the week last week at The Stranger, which felt rad. Here's the link. I also recently finished a poster for a show at the Cha Cha/ my friend's bday party. 

The writing style was taught to me by CMR and the photo is one I've had as my comp's wallpaper for a long time. I'm still trying to figure out my own style. Right now I'm just really into trying different things and taking cues from artists I really like.
